Face Diagnosis/Shen Diagnosis and Treatment - Part 1 - Lillian Bridges
The ability to recognize and evaluate Shen is one of the most important diagnostic tools in Chinese Medicine. Shen is best described as the light that shows from behind the eyes and from beneath the skin that gives clues about a patient’s psychological and physical health as well as the nature of their individual spirit. Shen resides in the heart and also in the brain as a higher level of fire energy. According to the Nei Jing, Shen can be felt as well as seen and is necessary in the transmission of emotions between two people. Learning to recognize the various qualities of Shen gives practitioners direct access to the mind and emotions of their patients.

With this emphasis on the underlying structural imbalances, PRM aims to help in the release of musculoskeletal tension, as well as to improve an individual’s nervous and energetic capacity, by instigating structural and functional realignment.
