Carbo brand acupuncture needles have set a new standard for Chinese-made acupuncture needles since their introduction in the mid-90s. The Carbo brand needles are manufactured in a Class 10,000 clean room, which is ten times cleaner than most Chinese needle manufacturing plants.
The Carbo brand also boasts a vertically integrated manufacturing plant with innovated quality control procedures that have made it a front runner in needle manufacturing. One of the most important features of the Carbo brand needle is that it uses US-made vacuum-forged FDA-approved surgical grade stainless steel. This specialized surgical steel has a low nickel content which makes it a first choice needle when it comes to dealing with patients with metal and lubricant allergies. The handles are made of a lightweight aluminum alloy giving it excellent thermal and electro conductivity. These needles should be a standard component in all clinics due to their hypo-allergenic features.
Carbo CT1
Handle: Aluminum wire-wound loop handle
Guide tubes: Yes. One needle per guide tube
This needle is one of our most popular - it features an aluminum alloy wire-wound loop handle that is great for use with TENs and moxibustion.
Carbo CT5
Handle: Aluminum wire-wound loop handle
Guide tubes: Five needles are packaged in one guide tube
The Carbo CT5 needles are the same as the CT1 needles, but are packaged for easy and fast needle access. The CT5 packaging was developed to save practitioners time and minimize waste in their clinics. Each blister pack contains five needles in one tube. The needles can be used freehand without tubes, or placed in the tube for insertion. Bulk packaging reduces waste and cost.
Carbo Deluxe DX
Handle: Aluminum alloy pipe-shaped handle
Guide tubes: Yes. One needle per guide tube
The Carbo Deluxe series represent Carbo's top-of-the-line needle. They feature a non-tarnishing, specially formulated pipe-shaped aluminum alloy handle and a consistently sharp needle profile.
Carbo Deluxe DL
Handle: Aluminum alloy pipe-shaped handle
Guide tubes: No
Carbo DL needles are the same as the DX version but without the guide tube. They are packaged without guide tubes for precision needling of the face.
Carbo Detox Quick-Pack
Handle: Aluminum alloy pipe-shaped handle
Guide tubes: No
These specialty needles feature all of the Carbo brand needle characteristics packaged for use in drug detox clinics. These needles come packaged ten needles per pouch. The unique feature of the pouch design is that ten needles are divided into two sets of five diametrically positioned needles, so that five are available at one time by opening one end. All needles are separately positioned for easy access of one needle at a time. This layout makes it convenient for practitioners using the protocols developed by the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA). Although they are called detox needles, they can be used for other ear, hand and face needling.
Carbo Easy-5
Handle: Aluminum wire-wound loop handle
Guide tubes: One guide tube provided for every five needles
These needles have all the same features as the Carbo CT1 and are packaged in a unique array to facilitate speed and reduce waste. The Carbo Easy-5 needles are packaged with five needles secured in a plastic needle dispenser to eliminate scratches caused by rubbing against eachother. Off-set needle positions allow for easy access to one needle at a time.
Carbo Easy-20
Handle: Aluminum wire-wound loop handle
Guide tubes: One guide tube provided for every 20 needles
Carbo Easy-20 needles are a larger version of the Easy-5. Designed for busy clinics, this packaging offers one guide tube for every 20 needles.
Carbo Foil Pack

Certain clinical techniques such as needle threading, or needling into certain parts of the body require longer length needles. These needles feature extra long shafts of 4" (100mm) and 5" (125mm). Each needle is housed in an aluminum back sheet of ten with each needle held in its own separate bubble.
