TCM BOOK CLUB: QIN bo-wei'S 56 METHODS
Featuring Charles Chace interviewing Jason Blalack, L.Ac. LIVE
FREE One-hour Webinar
Tuesday, February 28, 2012 @ 6pm Pacific
In this one-hour live webinar, Charles Chace interviews Jason Blalack, translator, compiler, and editor of the recently released book by Eastland Press: Qin Bo-Wei’s 56 Methods, Writing Precise Prescriptions.
Jason will discuss the development of Qin’s original manuscript, why it is important to us today, as well as talk about the extensive clinical commentary that has been added to to Qin’s text helping elucidate it to the West.
Qin Bo-Wei was one of the most important Chinese medicine scholar-physicians of the 20th century. Qin Bo-wei’s system of herbal prescribing is a synthesis of the most important ideas in Chinese medicine’s history. It pre-dates most of Mao Zedong’s influence and differs in a number of ways from the current TCM model, yet can easily be integrated into modern clinical use. This system is ideal for those looking to learn to diagnose clearly, write custom formulas as opposed to stock formulas or patents, improve their precision in herbal prescribing by writing smaller, more accurate formulas, or who simply want to break out of a basic TCM pattern structure.
