Koryo Hand Therapy was first developed in 1971 in Korea by its founder, Dr. Tae-Woo Yoo, O.M.D., Ph.D.
Koryo Hand Therapy (or Korean Hand Therapy) is a therapeutic system in which treatments are performed on both hands. It is based upon the theory that the hand is a micro-universe of the human body. The functions of human physiology can be influenced by stimulating specific corresponding (reflex) points on the hands for the treatment and prevention of specific conditions, and for health maintenance.
In KHT, treatments are given to the hands. These include miniature needles as well as non-needle techniques including moxibustion, electronic stimulation, silver and gold coloured pellets, silver finger rings, and more.
KHT methods can stand alone, or can be used to enhance other therapies.
