Course Overview
This is a Live Webinar event series that will be held from March 25-26, 2023. (Event timings are in the outline.)
These intensive courses by Jeffery Yuen are a part of FLOW Symposium 2023:
Emotional and Physical Scars as Qi Inhibitors
Practitioners often experience two general groups of healing process when engaging with a patient. The first group is relatively straightforward. The patient has a complaint, the practitioner accesses the problem, treats the issue and the patient gets better within generally, a predictable number of treatments (1-5). The second group is that fuzzy group, where the treatment, kinda works but not completely, or the treatment had an effect, but another problem emerges, or the patient may come in with one problem, but on intake you discover a number of overlapping complexities.
This second group of patients most likely have some type of long standing Qi inhibitor that influences the patients’ health trajectory. It may make them more prone to certain types of health issues, or physical injuries. It may influence the way they express themselves both emotionally and physically. These Qi Inhibitors can arise from an unkind word, a misinterpreted look, a fall generating pain and a scar in childhood. Or, the Qi Inhibitor may have arisen from a more serious cause, like long term emotional/physical abuse, serious accidents, and unexpected loss.
Patients in this second group often have one or more of the Qi Inhibitors in play. Depending on the patient and the robustness of their constitutional Five phase type, one or more of the meridians and or organs may be impacted to a greater or lesser degree.
In this one and half day workshop, Jeffrey Yuen will provide a roadmap for assessing the effects of physical and emotional scars in correlation to the five phases of the patient. Jeffrey will also provide treatment protocols and patient guidance tools to help practitioners resolve the Qi Inhibitor such that the free flow of Qi is re-established thereby restoring the normal healing process and optimizing healthy aging.
Cultivate your Qi with the 6 sounds!
The Six Sounds Qigong is also called the “Qigong of the healing words”. It represents a very popular exercise in Qigong practice.
This style is based on the assumption that the emission of a given sound and the specific vibration it produces can be used to activate specific physiological functions, allowing Qi to flow harmoniously.
Depending on the pitch of the sound we can determine if the Qi of an organ will travel towards the lower or the upper regions of the body. By modulating the speed of sound, we can induce either the tonification or the draining of Qi in a given organ.
According to Taoist thought, these sounds are often associated with the 5 elements.
Master Jeffrey Yuen will lead practitioners through the theory and actual practice of the 6 sounds methods during this afternoon session. We included this participatory portion of our two day event with Jeffery as we wanted you to leave this workshop inspired and empowered with new ways to heal others and yourself. These century old Taoist practices, as taught by Master Yuen, will provide you the knowledge to adapt the exercises for your own personal self-cultivation and train others based on their constitutional needs.
The recordings will be made available for you to review after the event!
Objectives
-
Learning how emotional and physical injuries can injure the body/mind/spirit matrix of an individual and create a Qi Inhibitor effect.
-
Learn how the same Qi Inhibitor events can affect individuals differently based on their 5-phase constitutional type.
-
Learn how to identify the depth, or degree of injury, the Qi Inhibitor event may occur, on the channel level, organ level or Shen level.
-
Learn a strategy for treatment of Qi Inhibitors using acupuncture, selfcare protocols, and other supportive methods.
-
Learn about the 6 sounds and how they evolved in theory and use within Classical Medicine
-
Learn the 5 element correlations to the 6 sounds and how the sounds influence Qi Flow.
-
Learn how to modulate the sounds to induce a tonifying or sedating effect.
-
Learn the and practice the application of sound through guided practice.
