In clinical practice, scleroderma and dermatomyositis (DMS) are commonly and frequently seen in the dermatological department. These diseases invade the skin as well as many organs, severely influencing a patient’s health; they may even become life threatening. In the West they are considered difficult diseases to cure with poor prognosis. However, Chinese medical approaches can effectively decrease the side effects of biomedical therapies, regulate the immune system, and improve patient’s health and life quality.
This textbook presents clinical observation, pattern differentiation, diagnosis, treatment methods, and current research results in Chinese medical application for scleroderma and dermatomyositis.
