Dāo Needle Therapy Foundation Certification Course

In this live, 2-day foundations training, practitioners will learn step-by-step methods that can be applied immediately in the clinic to release restricted tissues, restore mobility, and normalize function—delivering results patients can feel right away. The training is instructed by Brian Bowen, LAc, CMT, PAS, who has 26 years of study and clinical experience, and who has developed advanced treatment protocols that elevate this work beyond traditional needling.

During the Foundation Course, students will:

  • Acquire experience using the specialized Dāo needle
  • Understand the differences between dry needling and Dāo Needle Therapy
  • Deepen their understanding of Ashi point anatomy
  • Learn how Ashi points serve as diagnostic guides and therapeutic meters
  • Develop palpation skills to differentiate active and passive Ashi points
  • Identify and differentiate dysfunction from compensation
  • Explore the mechanisms of pain in relation to Qi and blood stagnation
  • Observe a variety of treatments, protocols, and needling techniques
  • Use biomechanical testing and patient positioning during assessment and treatment
