Module 1 (2 Hours)
Sexual Function: Dyspareunia, Vaginismus, and Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause
This module presents an evidence based acupuncture approach to three of the most underdiagnosed and undertreated conditions in pelvic health, dyspareunia, vaginismus, and genitourinary syndrome of menopause. Attendees will review biomedical presentation, differential diagnosis, and current research on acupuncture as an adjunct to standard care, then bridge into TCM pattern differentiation for each condition. A live demonstration of point location and needling technique will be followed by structured small group practice, giving attendees direct experience with palpation, point location and bone pecking techniques.
Module 2 (2 Hours)
Pelvic Pain Conditions: Dysmenorrhea and Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome
This module addresses the most common pain presentations acupuncturists encounter in pelvic health practice, primary dysmenorrhea and chronic pelvic pain syndrome. Attendees will learn TCM views on dysmenorrhea and chronic pelvic pain as well as research for acupuncture and these conditions. Attendees will review TCM pattern differentiation for both conditions, then receive a live demonstration of electroacupuncture technique for CPPS and dysmenorrhea and abdominal acupuncture, followed by small group hands on practice.
Module 3 (2 Hours)
Urologic Presentations: Overactive Bladder, Interstitial Cystitis, and Recurrent UTI
This module covers the three most common urologic presentations in pelvic health acupuncture practice, overactive bladder, interstitial cystitis, and recurrent urinary tract infection. Attendees will review current research on acupuncture and posterior tibial nerve stimulation for OAB, TCM pattern differentiation across all three conditions, and referral criteria specific to urologic red flags. A live demonstration of PTNS setup, including estim, will be followed by supervised small group practice.
