Course Overview
Traditional Chinese Medicine encompasses numerous centuries of empirical and clinical herbal formulae and formulations, both within the context of TCM as a professional medicine as well as a folk medicine.
Building upon the knowledge base covered in Part 1 of this course, we will continue to survey the application of Placenta Hominis (Zi He Che) within different therapeutic divisions of TCM including dermatology, neurology, respirology, gynecology, etc. The role of this medicinal within the context of a formula will be discussed and explored in terms of its synergism within the formula. Employing the model(s) of classical formulae we will then explore the feasibility of using Placenta Hominis (Zi He Che) as a medicinal to be included in modified as well as custom formulae. Chinese patent medicines employing the use of this medicinal will also be included, explored and discussed.
