Course Overview
Jake Fratkin uses his 44 years of clinical experience to present several lectures on Gynecological topics. Lecture 3 focuses on 3 common gynecological conditions: Infertility, and Menopausal Syndrome. We will compare the Western biomedical understanding with the modern TCM approach. The in-depth discussion will include pattern differentiation, and application of modern herbal formulas and modern herbal products.

Outline
0 hrs - 30 min
Discussion of Infertility in modern biomedicine, including ovarian factors, uterine factors, and cervical factors; the role of various hormones; and modern diagnosis. A brief overview to IVF is included.
30 min - 2 hrs
Discussion of infertility in modern TCM, focusing on common patterns for Liver stasis, Blood stasis, Kidney deficiency, Blood deficiency, Spleen qi deficiency, and Phlegm-dampness. Detailed descriptions of relevant herbal formulas will be discussed.
2 hrs - 3 hrs
Overview of TCM patterns for menopausal disorder, including kidney deficiency, and liver stasis of qi and blood. Detailed descriptions of relevant herbal formulas will be discussed.
