Course Overview
This course provides needling protocols such as intramuscular needling of the face, scalp acupuncture, facial cupping, auricular points, and motor points.
The knowledge gained in this acupuncture course will be used in the second part of the webinar which covers how to treat various diseases and disorders which affect the proper functioning of facial muscles and nerve such as Bell's Palsy, Ptosis, Shingles, TMJ, Stroke, Trigeminal Neuralgia, MS and others. It also provides assessment tools and needling protocols to treat various diseases and disorders which affect the proper functioning of facial muscles and nerves such as: Bell's Palsy, Ptosis, Shingles, TMJ, Stroke, Trigeminal Neuralgia, MS and others.
The second half focuses on diagnosis and treatment. The student will learn to Identify different TCM patterns, which affect the facial muscles and nerves.
Learn which modality is best suited to treat different conditions affecting the face. Learn how to effectively plan treatments for various conditions affecting the face.

Be able to identify which modality is best suited to treat different conditions affecting the face, including screening for contraindications.
Outline
0 hrs - 1.5 hrs
Discuss the theory of submuscular needling. Learn which areas of the face would benefit from submuscular needling.
1.5 hrs - 3.5 hrs
Learn scalp acupuncture theory including contraindications and precautions will be taught. Protocols used commonly for scalp acupuncture will be taught including various needle sizes and areas treated.
3.5 hrs - 5.5 hrs
The use of motor points to treat neuromuscular facial conditions including theory and contraindications will be taught. Protocols for using facial motor points will be discussed.
5.5 hrs - 6 hrs
Facial cupping theory and safety including contraindications will be taught. Tools and protocols used in facial cupping will be discussed
6 hrs - 7 hrs
Discuss Bell's palsy – definition from a western and eastern perspective – Learn the assessment etiology and treatment of Bell's palsy.
7 hrs - 9 hrs
Define Synkinesis and Ramsey Hunt syndrome from a western and TCM perspective – Learn the assessment etiology and treatment of Synkinesis, & Ramsey hunt
9 hrs - 11 hrs
Define stroke, TMJ, Trigeminal Neuralgia from a western and TCM perspective – Learn the assessment etiology and treatment of stroke, TMJ, Trigeminal Neuralgia.
11 hrs - 12 hrs
Define from Ptosis, Hemifacial Spasm, Myesthenia Gravis from a western and TCM perspecitive – Learn the assessment etiology and treatment of Ptosis, Hemifacial Spasm, Myesthenia Gravis
