Acufast Needle Wrist Launcher

The Acufast Needle Wrist Launcher allows you to carry your active needles conveniently on your wrist so that your hands are free to palpate and find points. When you are ready to insert a needle, the AFN Wrist Launcher has your tube and needles literally right at your fingertips and ready to go!

The AFN Wrist Launcher is designed to be used with the Acuclip and Acubase as a combined unit. For each commonly used needle that is used throughout the day, the practitioner will have set up an Acubase and an Acuclip exclusively for that size of the needle. During the treatment, the practitioner will select the size of needle to be used (note: the needles are already clamped in the Acuclip, and already resting on its Acubase parking spot), take the entire combination and place it on the AFN Wrist Launcher with the handles pointing out towards the fingertips. The AFN Wrist Launcher base will magnetically hold the Acubase, Acuclip, tube and needles securely while you move around the treatment table and room.

Note: While the Acuclip and Acubase work extremely well together in holding an open packet of needles securely in the pouch, sudden rapid movements should be avoided.

When you want to switch sizes, simply remove the Acuclip and Acubase assembly, return the combination to its parking spot and select the next size of the needle with its Acubase and Acuclip combination and place the assembly on the AFN Wrist Launcher base.

Now the new size of needles are ready to use!

Use: 

Take the AFN Wrist launcher and position it in your non-dominant hand with the magnetic base between your thumb and index finger and the AF logo, on the free end of the strap, in the down position.

Release the free end and pull away so that it is no longer attached to the underlying soft Velcro area.

Take the strap and pull the free end of the AFN Wrist launcher strap (Acufast Logo indicates the free end) away from the underlying soft Velcro loop area.

Place the fingers of your free hand on the soft Velcro loop area and pull the strap towards you to create a wide-open loop.

Slide your fingers and hand into the loop and position the base on the outside of the wrist, proximal to the wrist crease.

Tighten the strap by pulling on the free end to your comfort level. Note the AFN Wrist launcher base should be resting lightly on the wrist and with little or no movement when the wrist is rotated side to side.

An optional foam resting pad may be used between the base and skin for additional comfort during long periods of use. (note: resting pad may or may not be available with purchase, if it is not available, any thin foam piece of material may be used as a substitute)

The AFN Wrist Launcher is now ready to use! Simply select your needle size along with its Acuclip/Acubase assembly and place it on the AFN Wrist Launcher base with the handles pointing towards your fingertips and you are ready to start finding points and needling!

Tips and Tricks

Purchase and have ready one Acubase and one Acuclip for each commonly used needle during your treatments. Establish one or two “parking zones (see instructions on Acubase for parking zone setup) for your most commonly used needles. At the beginning of your day, open pouches for the needles you know will be used throughout the day and have them clipped with the Acuclip and positioned on the Acubase ready for use. If you use tubes, have your tube for that size needle placed in the groove on the Acubase.

Now you are set, with the patient ready and on the table, simply grab the needle size and the Acuclip/Acubase/tube (if used) assembly and place on the AFN Wrist Launcher base and start needling! Switch sizes, by switching Acuclip/Acubase assemblies, from wrist to parking spot and back again. Renew needle pouches as needed throughout the day. If tubes are used, recycle tubes at the end of treatment and prepare new tubes for the next patient. At the end of your day, empty all remaining needles into sharps container and recycle tubes and packaging in their appropriate containers.
